Normandy

Hello everyone!

Today I would like to wrote about one of the most beautiful region in France - Normandy. This such a cheerful place has many interesting corner which you should know!

Number one in Normandy is Honfleur. Every year this place counts 3,5 mln  of tourists! There we can find a harbour and many interesting avenues. In restaurants you can eat a seafood, pancakes, lobster or creme brulee. Honfleur is very important artistic centre where Claude Monet was creating his paintings.

The second place worth to see is Giverny where we can find a Claude Monet's house. We can walk all over his garden and admire a water lilies and a famous bridge which was painted by Monet many times. In Giverny is calm and idyllic atmosphere where live only 500 inhabitants.

Lyons-La-Foret is one of the most beautiful towns in France. There you can see a wooden cottages and you can drink coffe and eat croissants on the main square. In the afternoon this town is empty, calm and quiet. I think it is a great place to relax,

One of the biggest cities is Rouen with characteristic buildings, french kitchen and the biggest in Normandy gothic cathedral. There is many wooden cottages too. There you can eat macaroons and see many interesting places or monuments.

I have to write about one more place - Etretat where you can see many amazing views! There is a miraculous beach and a seaside cliffs.

To conclude, in Normandy we have many amazing places, so much more that I has just written about. For me, this region is worth to see. I hope you'll like this publication :)

See you next time!

So many countries, so many customs - part 2

Hello again!

As I said last time, I would like to continue the topic which I started last time. Now I'll write about Easter in four more countries.

The Czech Republic
Most of people in Czech Republic are atheists so it is hard to tell about some religious traditions. Easter is the first day of spring for them. Days have their own colours: Monday is blue, Thursday id green and Saturday is white. A tradition in most of houses is a flowerpot with the cereals, mainly with a wheat.

Italy
Easter is a family day with a very important solemn dinner. Meals are very significant for Italians so they prepare many special meals, for example mutton, lamb or Colomba. They don't pay attention to Easter Egg or to a basket of food sprinkled with holy water. Italians often leave out of town or they go on longer trips.

Germany and Austria
The traditions is that kids and also adults get gifts, for example Easter Eggs, some biscuits or sweets and many other things. They are also decorating their houses by trees with eggs hanging down. On their tables we can find pancakes, aniseed flavoured cakes or pudding.

That's all about that topic. I think you'll like it!
See you soon,

J.
