Today I’ll continue my description of that beautiful region of Italy. Hope you liked my last post. J

Florence

A pearl of Tuscany. Number One. Florence is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in Italy. It’s a treasure of art. Charming monuments, avenues, wonderful atmosphere and vues are available for everyone. Ponte Vecchio (an old bridge) is one of the most famous places in Florence – the first wooden bridge (many centuries ago), now this bridge is made of stone. It’s the only one bridge in Florence who has survived the Second World War.

Elba

Elba is an island – one of the biggest in Italy. There is a National Park so that island is protected. It’s a historical place but not only. It’s a perfect place for tourists who want to have a great and relaxing holidays. The coast is varied and there are always very warm.

That’s all about an incredible Tuscany from me. In the end I would like to recommend you a great film where you can see the beauties of Tuscany’s nature – “Under the Tuscan Sun” by Audrey Wells (2003). I think you’ll love it.

See you soon J

Hello!

How are you? Are you still there? I hope you are because today I have something new for you.
Today I'm going to describe a country which is situated next to Spain... and by The Atlantic Ocean... I think you know it yet. Of course, I'm writing about Portugal!

Have you ever been there? I haven't been there yet but I'm going to go there in the future, maybe next year.
That hot climate attracks... There is more than 300 sunny days in one year!

The capital city of Portugal is Lisbon, a pearl of Atlantic. It is one of the most beautiful capital cities in Europe. There is a quarter "Belem" where Vasco da Gama started his journey. You can visit Lisbon travelling by a yellow tram which became a symbol. It drives you to the most popular monuments and places in Lisbon.

Near to the capital city of Portugal you can find many resorts, just like Costa da Caparica where is an elegant and wide beach, as well Praia do Tamariz, Carcavelos, Cascais (especially for surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing lovers), Praia do Sul, Costa de Prata or Costa Verde (one of the wildest coasts) and many others.

                                          Costa da Caparica

                                          Cascais

30 km from Lisbon is Sintra - placed on wooded hills - very pictureque village full of castles and palaces. The biggest attraction is Palacio Nacional da Pena which is a mixture of styles and colours. Also, you can see Palacio da Vila (be careful because there you can get lost very quickly!) or Quinta da Regaleira consisted of a palace, chapel, tunnels, parks, fountains and aquariums. You can find Sinstra on UNESCO World Heritage List.

                                          Palacio Nacional da Pena

That's all for today but I will continue my post about Portugal soon.

See you!

It's a metropolis in the middle of the forest over the fiord (Oslofjord). Oslo is a capital city of Norway and also the biggest city in all country. Summer in Oslo is very warm and winter is very frosty and then it is a paradise skiers. Oslofjord counts more less 40 islands. A half of this city is green because of many parks and forests. I think I don't have to add anything else.

Provence

Hello everybody :)

I would like to present you another place worth to see. I'm still staying in France but now it's time for Provence! It is such a beautiful region in southern France.

Provence - beautiful landscapes, warm climate and amazing monuments. There you can see a lot of flowers, mainly a lavender, vineyards, castles, herbs. It could be a fascinating travel you won't forget!

Provence is famous for many charmy villages and small towns walled by fields of lavender. It is an amazing land with many interesting and unforgettable corners and views as you can see on the pictures.

This region is very popular, everywhere we can meet there many tourists. The most popular city is Saint-Rémy - the perfect Provençal village - ancient but with a little bit of modernity. Right there we can find many cheerful corners, for example sandstone houses, winding streets or many other beautiful objects.  It is a place full of asylum where even Van Gogh had created his paintings.

For a chocolate lovers the best is Joël Durand Chocolatier. It is a chocolate store in Saint-Rémy where you can try, for example, a ganache with jasmine tea.  The supplements to chocolate, for example, cofee or honey are original and the one of its kind.

In Provence we can find many other places. I would like to recommend this place because I think it is a travel full of amazing views where you can see many interesting monuments.

Hope you'll like this place!

So many countries, so many customs - part 2

Hello again!

As I said last time, I would like to continue the topic which I started last time. Now I'll write about Easter in four more countries.

The Czech Republic
Most of people in Czech Republic are atheists so it is hard to tell about some religious traditions. Easter is the first day of spring for them. Days have their own colours: Monday is blue, Thursday id green and Saturday is white. A tradition in most of houses is a flowerpot with the cereals, mainly with a wheat.

Italy
Easter is a family day with a very important solemn dinner. Meals are very significant for Italians so they prepare many special meals, for example mutton, lamb or Colomba. They don't pay attention to Easter Egg or to a basket of food sprinkled with holy water. Italians often leave out of town or they go on longer trips.

Germany and Austria
The traditions is that kids and also adults get gifts, for example Easter Eggs, some biscuits or sweets and many other things. They are also decorating their houses by trees with eggs hanging down. On their tables we can find pancakes, aniseed flavoured cakes or pudding.

That's all about that topic. I think you'll like it!
See you soon,

J.

So many countries, so many customs

As you know, Easter is coming. Therefore, I thought it could be interesting to describe how this feast looks like in other countries.

Up firt - USA
In United States Easter lasts just one day. People don't  have any tradition of sharing eggs but they believe that an egg boilt on Good Friday and eaten on Easter Sunday will bring a good luck for their family. Their favourite custom is "looking for treasures" (chocolate eggs hidden at home and in the garden). People in USA eat mainly in restaurants. Americans also don't forget about decorating their houses. A symbol of Easter is undoubtedly a rabbit and very popular in United States is also Easter Parade which takes place in New York. There is also orginised an Egg Rolling competition.

United Kingdom
In UK people have 4 days off when Easter is coming. They usually go shopping or to leave out of town. On Easter Sunday children get a lot of chocolate eggs with different fillings :) On Good Friday Queen of England gives coins to the people. There is also many performances and an Egg Rolling competition just like in USA.

That's all for today but I haven't finished yet!
To be continued next week, I'll describe Easter in other countries.
