Greece - part 5

Hello everybody!

How are you?

Today's next and last part of my description of Greece. Hope you're not bored because Greece is full of wonderful places!

Thessaloniki

It's a second-largest city in Greece and a capital city of Macedonia. Architecture and landscapes in Thessaloniki are different than in Athens. In Thessaloniki is a quarter called Kastra, with monuments and alleys which had been built in art deco style. There are also many churches of XV century which are Byzantines monuments.

Peloponnese

It's a peninsula and region in southern Greece.  It is a magical region with wonderful landscapes. There we can find an Arcade - the land of eternal happiness. Peloponnese is a perfect place for calm and relaxing holidays, far from clamour. It's also a good choice for tourists who like sightseeing. We can visit there the most famous archeologically monuments, just like Olympia, Mycenae, Epidauros, Corinth or Mistras. In addition, Peloponnese is an area covered by mediterranean plants, famous of olive, grapevines and citrus fruits cultivation. There are also sandy beaches, crystal clear water, wild mountains and picturesque valleys. Sounds great! :)

Olympia

Mycenae

Corinth

Kos

Kos is one of the most beautiful Greek island which is a part of Dodecanese island. There are picturesque and charming villages, lively and colourful Kos town, wide bays with crystal clear water, white beaches, green hills or fertile valleys. Sunny Kos has a perfect climate which is very mild. It's also a good place for windsurfing (and, of course, other water sports) lovers. I think it's a paradise!

That's all for today and that's all about Greece :) For the next time I've prepared something special!

See you next time!

Ithaca is a Greek island in Ionan Sea, off the north-east coast of Kefalonia. Ithaca is the separate regional unit of the Ionian Islands region. That place is identified with Homer. Ithaca is charmful, beautiful and ancient island, a perfect place for relaxing and calm holidays, far away from tourists. Ithaca is very important, literaly symbol. This island is also full of pictureque bay surrounded by colourful plants.

Corfu

Corfu is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea . It is the second largest of the  Ionian Sea. The most green island in Greece. Full of colours, precipitous cliffs with wonderful beaches. Undoubtedly, a perfect place for unforgettable holidays.

Rhodes

More than 300 sunny days in year. This island is famous not only of wonderful beaches, but also of interesting monuments. You can visit ancient cities - Lindos or Kamiros.

Greece - part 3

Hi everybody!

What's up?

Today I'll continue my description of Greece - sunny and full of attractions country, perfect for every tourist :)

Zakynthos

Zakynthos is a greek island called a flower of the West. This island enraptures us with its beauty, charming bays, crystal clear and turquoise sea, as well a huge number of flowers and citrus trees. I think I fell in love with this place although I've never been there yet!

Chalkidiki Penisula

One of the most beautiful penisulas in Europe which is also situated in interesting way. It's a connection of three worlds - Kassandra - tourist camp, Sithonia - a world of nature and Athos - oasis of calm and Monk's land (which I've described before). This penisula is famous of sansy beatches and rocky shores, That all in one places gives us a great view and let us find some calm and charming corners.

Olimp

Who didn't hear about it? The highest, the most magical and charming mountain massif in Greece. A lot of very high mountains, it takes at least 2-3 days to sightsee Olimp area. If you want to go to those mountains, you have be well-equipped with solid shoes or warm clothes but you don't have to be a climber to go there.
In greek mythology Olimp mountain was the headquarters of greek gods with the most important one - Zeus - as everybody knows. I think it would be amazing to see Olimp and conquer one of those mountains.

That's all for today. And, of course, I will continue this tour of Greece!

See ya!

Greece - part 2

Hello again!

Today I’ll continue my description of the best places in Greece. So let’s start!

Crete

An Island full of small, narrow and sandy beaches which are creating a beautiful scenery – that’s Crete! A West side of Crete is full of attractions for tourists. We can visit a lovely city – Chania – situated in full of mediterranean landscapes. That all creates a perfect place to relax. Off the Chania’s coast we can find well-known touristic resorts like Platanias or Agia Marina. Next to Chania there is another city which is also very popular on Crete is Rethymnon. When you are on Crete – you absolutely have to go there. Beyond lovely resorts, Crete offers also the most beautiful beaches in Balos and Elafonissi.

Elafonissi

Santorini

Santorini is a volcanic Island on The Aegan Sea which with a few smaller islands creates a small archipelago. Colourful and towering cliffs are making Santorini very charming. There are also many white buildings which are creating an amazing landscape – auster with great panoramas, black or red beaches and volcanic sand – that all contrasts with wonderful blue sea. It sounds incredibly, isn’t it? 💗

Meteors

One of the most wonderful places in the world. On the peaks of sandstone we can see monasteries. All in all, there are 24 monasteries, everyone on a different rock. Nowadays, only six of them are peopleed and monastic life is going on. Four of them are for men and two for women. Tourists can visit meteors thanks to the stairs and jetties.

As you can see, Greece is full of attractions and full of beauty. I think I don't have to add anything else.  But I haven’t finished yet! That's all for today, but my description of Greece is not finished yet!

See you,

J.
